YAC Recruitment for 2009


Our Objectives

To provide a space for young artistes of all arts form to train regularly;To express their creative thoughts and explore their dream into reality experience;To nurture their potential to the fullest.

Training Timeline

The training programme runs 12 sessions per term and 2 terms (24 lessons) yearly. Separate time would be given for rehearsals of production or special projects.

When?

Date : Every Fridays (Starting on 9th Jan 2009)
Time : 7.30pm – 9.30pm

Where?

Venue : Level 1 Music Room @ Ven. Hong Choon Memorial Hall
Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastry

$240 (inclusive of 7% GST) for 24 lessons

FAQ


1. What is Young Artiste Club (YAC)?

Young Artiste Club (YAC) is an ArtStation for the Youths organized by the Dept of Youth and Arts, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery


2. What programme does it offer?

YAC Performing Arts Programme is practical performance-based. It create opportunities for young artistes in practical productions for exposure. A long-term working relationship will be further explored to the youths we trained in planning and organizing events for their own group.


3. What will we learn?

Participants will pick up tools in practical vocal singing, appreciation lessons to have a general knowledge in music, dance introduction and drama improvisation to better express yourself in performing, and also lead you to create original works with youths of the same interest.


4. Who will be teaching it?

A group of professionals with numerous local and overseas artistic productions experiences will be specially engaged to facilitate you through practical experiencing.


5. Who does it open to?

This total performer programme is open to all passionate and committed young talents that are willing to learn practical skills in performing. We wish to produce talents with integrity of a professional artiste.


6. Do I need to have any background?

Music, dance nor drama background is not required; an interview/ audition will be conducted for us to realize your potential better.


7. How do I join?

Orientation on 27th December 2008, 1pm.

Come prepared with a 2 Minutes Performance – it can be a song, monologue, skit, dance or any performance piece that can help us knowing you better.

Successful applicants will be joining our structured performance-based training programme which will be conducted over 2 terms in 2009.
